Your result shows your WPM and accuracy in French. Expect a slightly lower score than in your strongest language at first - your fingers need time to learn new letter patterns.
Typing accented letters in French
French uses many accented letters: é, è, ê, à, ç and others. On the French AZERTY keyboard several of these have their own keys, and the A, Z, Q, W and M keys are in different places compared with QWERTY. If you're learning AZERTY, practice slowly until the new positions feel natural.
Letters you'll meet in French: é è ê à â ç ù û ô î ï ë œ.
Practicing a second language
Typing in a new language trains two skills at once: spelling and finger movement. Short, frequent sessions work best. Try a 1 minute French test every day, and use the Custom option to paste in vocabulary you're studying.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a French keyboard?

Is WPM measured the same way in French?
Yes. Every five correct characters count as one word, regardless of language, so scores are comparable across languages.
