Why targeted practice works

Most typists lose speed on a small number of keys, usually the ones reached by the weaker ring and little fingers, like Q, Z, X and P. Each miss costs a backspace and a retype, so fixing your three worst keys often adds more speed than hours of general practice.

Frequently asked questions

How does adaptive practice choose my keys?

Every test and lesson you finish records hits and misses for each key. Practice picks the letters with the highest error rate (with at least eight attempts) and builds real-word drills that use them heavily.

How often should I practice weak keys?

Five to ten minutes a day works better than one long session. Do a couple of drills, then take a normal typing test to see whether your error rate drops.

Do I need an account?
